Procedure: Breast Reconstruction Tissue Expander/Implant
A 55 year-old woman developed breast cancer on the left side. The patient decided to undergo bilateral breast removal and immediate reconstruction with tissue expander without saving her nipples. After 4 months, she underwent an outpatient procedure consisting of replacement of bilateral tissue expanders for permanent implants and bilateral nipple/areola complex creation. During the second-stage surgery, she also underwent fat grafting to fill contour deficiencies of her reconstructed breasts. The photographs below illustrate the pre-operative markings with fat grated areas marked in brown and yellow. Nipple tattoo was performed 6 months after the last surgery.
